The Silverpilen is the nickname of a metro train that features in several urban legends. “The Silver Arrow” is a Swedish Metro Train and is most likely an aluminium model C5 car which was never painted into the standard green from the 1960’s. These trains were in production from the mid 60’s up until 1996.

The train was likely used as a back-up train, and possibly for the use of relieving the rush hour traffic. The inside of the train’s often had graffiti or partially destroyed adverts along with flecks of pain. The train may well not have been seen that often by the regular passengers from Stockholm. If a tired traveller (maybe even a drunk one) had seen this unpainted train and recalled the event to someone it would seem like a bizarre occurrence in potential.

The ghostly train’s stories have been retold in a few formats, some stories recount that it is only seen in abandoned tunnels by subway workers. Others reported it was seen going through the stations at high speed, and some reports are that the train would occasionally stop and collect passengers who were never seen again, however if they were it could be that they were dropped off days, weeks, months or even years later.

A station cited as a possible Silverpilen area is Kymlinge. There has been a lengthy history of the area being used and is now a large recreational park. The Metro Station building was never used, in 1975 the line was opened but the station never used. The project has been put off indefinitely.

Yes you heard it I have been here three whole years! *has a party*
