November 29th 1969, a young promising student was stabbed to death in the library at the Pennsylvania State University. At an unknown point in a short window the young lady was stabbed through the heart by a single-edged knife.

The young lady fell and a desk clerk reported that one man (possibly with a second) said that “somebody better help that girl”. By the time she reached the hospital it was too late. Betsy’s red dress has masked the full reality of the damage done and they did not realise how bad it was until she reached the medical centre.

The identity of the person/persons the desk clerk spoke to have not been confirmed. Her attacked has not been found and a beautiful 22 year old woman’s murdered will be judged on the other side.

One thing I was glad to hear about is that Paranormal State were refused a chance to exploit this woman’s death. They wanted to conduct a paranormal investigation but college official’s refused. From all accounts online there is no evidence to suggest the area is haunted and I see no reason for a hammy show to start fabricating it either.

I cannot say that I appreciate beauty pageants at the best of times, perhaps this story counts towards why… the length’s some people seemingly go to just to make children look more adult? Why… let children be children. Anyway! Before this becomes a very personal rant instead of a report on a strange case here goes.

JonBenét was child beauty pageant contestant, she was murdered in her own home in 996. She was reported missing and found eight hours later in her own family home’s basement. The six year old had been struck on the head and strangled. Her case remains unsolved and continues to generate a great deal of interest.

Law enforcement initially favoured her parents and her brother, the the family were exonerated in 2003 due to DNA evidence from her clothing. Media coverage often focuses on her beauty pageant involvement, and some have questioned how the police handled it.

The ransom note discovered was supposedly to the value of $118,000 and despite instructions not to contact the police she did. A search was carried out by police and it was John Ramsey, her father, who found her body. DNA extracted in 2003 is ran through CODIS weekly.

An in-depth look at the tragedy can be found here

Curiously a male-to-female transgender formerly known as John Mark Karr decided he would confess to the murder.  DNA excluded her but she continued to cause more problems. I find it sad that an already terrible tragedy was made worse by false confessions. I hope that the original killer is found, and that the poor young lady gets the justice she deserves.

Warning – Very Sad!!

This is a tragic tale (and I will advise you that searching online gets some sadly upsetting pictures) of a young boy whose murderer was never identified. The young man himself was around 4-6 years old and was found in a cardboard box Feb 25th, 1957.

A young man was checking his muskrat traps, fearing the police would remove the traps he never reported the sighting of the dead boy. The body lay in  a blanket, inside a box for a few more days until a college student was driving that way. The student spotted a rabbit running into the bushes and stopped the car to check it was not caught in the traps. What he found was the body and after deliberation he reported it the next day.

Despite print-outs of the poor boy being distributed and large campaigns, no information about him came forwards. Theories have been abundant and stories about his conspirators letting him wind up where he did. Regardless of this the case remains unsolved.

The story and all attempts to find out more about the young man are documented about the web, the boy in the box has become a spot on America’s Most Wanted, has it’s place in Cold Case, CSI and Law & Order:SUV

Rest in peace little man, the murderer(s) surely will not.
