Japanese folklore gives us the name Kasha, a demon or strange cannibalistic entity that feeds on human corpses. It is said to bring the bodies to hell of those that committed mortal sins in life. 8th Avenue and Harding in Honolulu, Hawaii is said to contain a Kasha. It is said that it took up residency after a family was murdered by the father, the bodies of his wife and son were found but there was no sign of his daughter around.

In 1942 a woman called the authorities saying she had an unseen entity that had attacked her children. Police apparently watched in horror as the children were thrown across the room.

Later on three women moved in, one had the entity touch her and the frightened ladies called the police. The women wanted out! And so asked the police man to follow them down the drive, for some reason they turned off to a parking lot and the officer found them grappling with the unseen force. When he tried to help he too was forced back.  The one woman was choking and he got them out, none of their cars would start either. When the woman finally got back to the car and the policeman to his, it seemed it was okay and they started up again.

The troubles then continued, and gained momentum, the car door was ripped off and tossed to the roadside then the woman who was choking was thrown from the moving car. The three witnesses could do nothing as she was strangled to death.

In 1977 it seems that the incident was finally brought to a halt by a young couple who moved in, the woman awoke in the night to find a large woman with no arms or legs hovering above her. They consulted with their reverend, he suggested that they offer food to the intruder for a week and that it should help it to find where it belonged, it seems that it stopped the activity and no I really don’t understand the food thing before you ask.

It’s no secret I love to play games, I also love some of the little bits come along with it, and one of those little gems is the Children of Goldshire. Goldshire is the fictional settlement outside of the human city of Stormwind. The game is World of Warcraft and it’s a massive multi-player game.

There is one house with some particularly creepy children, at 7am server time they wander out around the Elwynn Forest and stop in pentagram formation. They despawn at 8pm server time and then come back again the following day.

They are also labelled Creepy Children or Demon Children of Goldshire, there are six of them and never go past where the river meets Mirror Lake. Their names are Cameron, John, Jose, Lisa, Dana and Aaron. Once they finish their little tour and stand in the bedroom a random sound will then be heard.

The sounds that can be heard are –

a banshee screaming, a ghoul’s call or C’thun (a god on the world based on the H P Lovecraft mythos) saying “You… will… die” or “Death is Close.” They all sound pretty creepy!

If you stand in the middle of the kids in the house and check your add-on with a quest helper add-on it will tell you that you are 666 points from the Stormwind border.

Below is one of my video’s of the event before the latest expansion but you can still go there now and see them, a screenshot is below of the children as I found them. Creepy!

Not the kind where you run up and down the stairs until you feel light headed. The genuine practise of banishment of spirits/demons possessions. I won’t go on about the obvious film(s) covering this genre but I will mention that this is something controversial to many people.

Medical studies suggest that the following can be contributing to the delusion/belief that someone is possessed.

  • Automatism, someone acting in a mechanical or involuntary manner.
  • Gilles de la Tourette’s syndrome, where victims cannot control their language outbreaks or movements.
  • OCD – a need to continue doing what can be seen as irrelevant acts over and over again.
  • Some form of mental disorder (eg schizophrenia)
  • Xonolalia,. where a person begins to speak a language fluently that was previously unknown
  • deep-rooted psychological problems that have not been addressed correctly

“O sacardos Christi, tu scis me esse diabolum. Cur me derogas?” Latin ‘O Priest of Christ, you know that I am the Devil. Why do you keep bothering me?’

As an example one Father states that of 500,000 referred exorcism’s he believed that 84 of them were genuine cases of possession. According to an independent report hey should refer to a doctor and then only aim for a priest as a last resort.

The practise is not something that is exclusively Christian/Catholic and I believe it’s worth noting this. Most of the horrors we see on our screens involving the subject are based on the Catholic rites but there are rites of this nature in Hinduism, Judaism and Islamic texts.

Which brings me nicely on to a small passion I have outside of the blog, anime and cosplay.  With all the serious posting above I’d like to share a trailer for an anime I am currently enjoying.
